Flooring I

Choosing the right type of flooring has never been more exciting. Todays market offers a number of excellent choices that are both functional and fashionable. If you need something that will look sophisticated and rich, hardwood floors are an excellent choice. If you want something that provides a little protection and warmth, you could go with carpeting. Perhaps you want to bring a look of Old World charm to your home, in which case ceramic tile would do the job. By changing out the flooring, your entire room will take on an amazing appearance.

For instance, if you want new flooring for your kitchen, you will need flooring that can handle high-traffic, is resistant to spills and messes, is easy to clean, and is not slippery. To accomplish this, you have a number of choices. For one, vinyl is an excellent choice. If dishes are dropped, rather than splatter into a million pieces, they will usually just bounce. Vinyl also comes in a number of colors and textures. Other great choices for the kitchen include hardwood, laminate, and tile.

For the bathroom, you want material that is waterproof, which is crucial, something that is easy to clean, and a non-slippery surface. Choices to consider for this room would consider vinyl, ceramic tile, which has become the number one choice, and even some of the newer types of wood and laminate flooring. To help create a safe, non-slipping floor, simply use rugs.

Living Room

The living room is another room that seems to go through flooring quickly. Since this area has a lot of traffic, keeping the floor looking nice can be a challenge. The living room is usually the hub of the home and seen by anyone that comes iide. Therefore, you need flooring that is functional but looks amazing. Your best option is to choose carpeting that has the type of fiber and style that will work with any décor. Typically, nylon or wool would be the top choices. Hardwood floors are another excellent solution that provides warmth and a rich, elegant look that is durable.

Dining Room

For the dining room, you need flooring that wears well and above all, is stain resistant. Carpet is a good option but be sure that you choose something like nylon that will wear well and helps with spilled food. The dining would also look great with laminate, wood, or ceramic style.

To change the bedroom, usually the floor is not the focal point since the bed covers a large portion of it. Additionally, since there is little traffic in the bedroom, your choices are made a little easier. Your best option is to choose a color that is neutral so you can change the décor from time to time and look for lush carpet.

When looking at flooring options for the hallway, keep in mind that this is probably the highest traffic area of the home. Because of this, you need flooring that will withstand all the traffic, last years, and look great. A beautiful solution would be to have ceramic tile or wood parquet installed. Another great choice is laminate flooring, which is affordable.
